Graphics and Power Point with a Leadership edge
This chapter introduces the
method of using graphics and PowerPoint in presentation. It is notably using
graphics help you deliver your purpose more quickly and more clearly. The
graphic can reinforce your message, show clear relationship among the
paragraph, and easy to understand and remember. Choosing the right chart in
your document is import because it can add to, support, or explain your message
best. The main purpose of graph is aid the audience in understanding the data
and your central message so you need to make sure the chart can help you
communicate your message more effectively.
PowerPoint is a tool to
communicate your content more effectively. It was not intended to be a
replacement for thinking. It is a medium to help convey that thinking. Some
PowerPoint distracters blame the AutoContent Wizard for “dumbing down”
presentation and creating presentations devoid of meaningful content.

to creating meaningful and effective text layouts?
Answer:

Do not put too many words on the slides

Do not have any one bullet as a category
·
Use hanging indents more than one line
·
Avoid widow words, Keep text simple but
meaningful

Make sure all bulleted items are parallel in
structure.

What are the guidelines to use animation effectively?
Answer:

Use animation only to control the delivery of
the message or help the audience with the message.
·
Do not overuse animation or add it just
because it is possible.
·
When animation is used to bring in text or
autoshapes, the text and shapes should appear or come in from the most logical
direction and shortest distance.

Avoid using several different animation
technique in one presentation.

Make sure to test the animation by running
the presentation in slide view from beginning to end.
Question 3:
What are the guidelines to use color?
Answer:

Keep them simple and select color that work
well together.
·
Ensure that the colors are easy to see when
placed against each other.
·
Check text color, in particular, to see that
it contrasts with background color sufficiently to be clearly legible.

Make sure the colors support the desired
image and the intended message.
